Headhunters is a more grounded story set in 'normal' Oslo business world rather than in the murky Norwegian criminal underworld. I enjoyed the book Headhunters by Jo Nesbo much more than this Norwegian author's other titles, which include the debauched (and a little tiresome) detective, Harry Hole. I'm on the BAFTA panel that votes on Films Not in the English Language and so often the very best films of the year are skipped by BAFTA and Oscars voters, since they are simply not in easy English! HEADHUNTERS and SEARCHING FOR SUGAR MAN (which rightly took the Documentary BAFTA and Oscar) are truly the first equal best films of the year - and make Best Picture Winner ARGO (despite its virtues) look like a B Picture. Like the Coen Brothers brilliant BAFTA winner, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, HEADHUNTERS is a roller coaster of twists and turns - both funny and terrifying - and just a great gripping movie! I don't want to reveal any spoilers so just get to see it!
